    Sugar Hollow Scramble 5k 10k 15k 20k 25k 30k
Come get your sugar rush at The Sugar Hollow Scramble on 7/23/2016. This is ONE SWEET RACE. This event is unlike anything in the area. You start the race at 8AM and YOU decide how far you want to go. The course is a 5K, mostly single track trail, through several unique areas of Sugar Hollow Park. You will twist through an old hardwood forest on a single track, glide over the soft needles in a mature pine grove, check out the long range views as you cross the earthen dam, wander through the wetlands, all before returning to the start/finish. If you liked it, you can do it again, and again, and again until your 3 hours are up. Come run a fun trail 5K or 30K....or somewhere in between.
All finishers will receive a finishers award (varies by total distance), a race shirt, and an ice cream party at the end. How far will you go? Sweet Awards to the top 3 male and female runners, based on time and distance.
Your distance will be determined by the last full lap you completed, and does not need to be picked ahead of time.
Event is chip timed and refreshments will be available
Camping is available on a first come, first serve basis through Sugar Hollow Park.

    21st Marine Mud run
If you have yet to take the Marine Mud Run Challenge, you're missing out on the cleanest fun you'll ever have with a 5K race! Many folks ask, just how tough is the course? We reply, it's as hard or easy as you want it to be! We have semi-pro runners down to the neighbor next door that has never entered a 5k race. Individual and 5 Person Team races and the Pollywog Jog, a shorter version for children 12 yrs. and under.
One thing is for sure if you run this race the Marines will see to it that you finish it. Part of the Marines creed is to never leave another Marine behind. And for this event we will never leave a runner behind!
This is a fundraiser that benefit Toys-4-Tots and Camp Roanoke Organizations

Obstacles Include: Run through Roanoke River, small mud pit, hike up "Mount Suribachi", low crawl through large mud pit and other obstacles.

    Registration Opens: 7:00 AM

Opening Ceremony: 9:00 AM National Anthem & Posting of Colors

Race Times: 5k Individual Race 9:15 am Pollywog Jog 10:30 am Team Race 5k 11:30 am
