NCH My Run Walk and Roll Challenge
    9:00 A.M.
Norton Community Hospital's My Run, Walk and Roll is a new event for physically challenged (or just out of shape!) individuals of all ages that will take place alongside the Heart-One Cardiac Rehab 5K Run at the Wise Fall Fling. If needed, participants in the NCH My Run, Walk and Roll Challenge will be able to use walkers, wheelchairs or other mobile devices to assist in their navigation of the 0.30 mile flat course. To ensure safety of all participants, there will be volunteers along the route to assist as needed. Participants who require help with their mobility will need a personal caregiver with them during the challenge to further ensure safety throughout the event. This event is not a race! It's an individual challenge! Registered participants will be given an award for their efforts. The "finish line" is determined by you whether its a small piece of the course or the entire 0.30 mile, or beyond! We estimate that it will take 7 to 10 minute for the entire 0.30 mile walk or roll. For more information or to register, please call Norton Community Hospital's Inpatient Rehabilitation Department at (276) 439-1350.

    Trail & Trail 8 Mile

The Trail & Trail 8 mile is located in Lebanon, VA and is hosted by the Russell County Rotary Club in concert with their equine trail ride. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Rotary Club charitable giving and also the Russell County Parks and Recreation Department. Runners will have the opportunity to explore a trail on private land and mingle with the horse riders before and after but will be on separate trails.

The trail travels through pristine land, past a cabin, and several ponds outside of populated areas. The trail is not technical but does have several hills. Runners can take their time, there is no time limit to the run. The trail loops around to the start and when finished runners will receive a t-shirt, a medal, and any overall or age group awards.

We will be serving some of the best craft beer in the region and the Russell County Rotary will be serving food. Later in the evening the venue will live stream the Tennessee vs. Alabama game for everyone’s enjoyment.

The race start is easy to locate, about an hour from Johnson City or 35 minutes from Bristol right off Hwy 19.

The run will start at 7:30AM and there will be a 11 hour time limit (6:30PM) for both events. The sun will be setting before 6:30PM, so please plan to be off the mountain before it gets dark!! Both the 50K and 25K runs will Start and Finish at the Unicoi Visitor Center, which is 0.4 miles from the Pinnacle Tower Trail. This will allow for ample parking and will give some running room before starting on the single track. The number of runners is limited as this run will take place in the Cherokee National Forest. The course will consist of single track, forest service roads, grassy fire roads, and mountain bike trails. There will be lots of climbing but also some sweet downhills! The low registration fee covers food at the aid station and post race food. No medals, no awards will be given.

    9th Annual Race For Ian
    9:00am 5K Race
    9:05am Mile fun Run/Walk
This event raises funds for Tennessee Hemophilia and Bleeding Disorders Foundation. Ian is a severe hemophiliac.
This means he has a Factor 8 clotting agent problem. He takes port injections of Factor 8 to help with joint bleeds,
bruising and every day life happenings. He just turned 9 years old 7/27/16 and to date he has had around 1,900 injections
to help with this disorder. Due to the low percentage of people this affects, research funds are small compared to other disorders
that affect a larger population. Every bit helps! Thank you in advance for your support.
Large trophies are given for the overall winners.
Plus we usually have 50 or more gift give-a-ways through drawings. All you have to do is be registered.
You do not even have to be there or even run to receive these prizes. Prizes of past years:
Overnight stay at the Carnegie Hotel, Massages, games, running attire, running headphones, Theater movie tickets, gift cards (Walmart, Target, Best Buy, local food establishments) clothing, Free workout memberships, and cosmetics just to mention a few. Hope to see ya there! God bless, The Bates Family

    Run For President 5K
7pm. Everyone come "run for president" with us on Election Day. Everyone is a legitimate presidential candidate in this run. We don't care if you are red or blue, democrat or republican, liberal or conservative, we're all runners! Make sure you go vote, and then we'll take off on a 5K run as soon as the polls close. Stick around and watch election results over a brew or two at Studio Brew in Bristol. The run will be chip timed, but remember, this is NOT a race so roads will not be closed to traffic. This is a low key event (only $5 pre-registration fee) with the fee going to the Bristol Salvation Army to help pay for their Thanksgiving meal. The course map may change slightly from what we have posted. Stay tuned for more info on this new event.
